Graduated at ESTAM in 2002, José María Sánchez García, founded his studio in Madrid. His work shows great care and respect towards the pre-existing context, allowing an exceptional intervention in delicate projects like the recovery of Diana temple in Mérida, the location that formed the city centre in Roman times.
His origins in the region of Extremadura strongly mark his work, as can be appreciated throughout this project, in which mass presence and handling are manifest in a context rich with historical constructions.
This mixed with pure geometry (influenced perhaps by the time he spent working at Alberto Campo Baeza’s studio) defines his architecture.
The bulk of these projects is what won José María, an under 40 architect, the wide recognition of his work by Spanish and international media such as Architectural Record and Architectural Review.
In 2012 the proposal he presented together with the Ipiña and Nieto architecture studio, won the design competition for OPPTA, the Pan-American observatory to be constructed in Puerto Saavedra, Chile. The design seeks to recover this territory, threatened by natural catastrophes.
His professional practice is currently combined with academic experience as Professor of projects in the same university he studied at, the Superior Technical School of Architecture in Madrid (ETSAM).
Many thanks to Mónica Pecci, María J. Albarreal, Ana Coronado, Juan Cáscales, Francisco Márquez and all those who were there Saturday as part of the Alt-Q team, for your visit and interest shown in our project: CerroBlanco.
We continue to introduce the Architecture studios who visit Fuenteheridos out of interest in our CerroBlanco project. The three Catalan architects, directors of “RCR Architects”, Rafael Aranda, Carmen Pigem y Ramón Vilalta, are the stars of today’s post, as they represent one of the best architecture studios in the national scene. Their work stands out for its beauty and exceptional artistic level. Joaquín Torres, director of A-cero assures us that “Their projects are authentic masterpieces”.
Don Cesar Ruiz Larrea, of Ruiz-Larrea & Associates architecture studio visited the CerroBlanco quarry and is enthusiastic about participating in the design competition we are preparing in order to find the best planning solution for this space. (más…)

We paid a visit to Oscar Mariné, designer, artist and communicator in Madrid. He won the national prize for design in 2010, awarded by the ministry of science and innovation, in recognition of his ample and brilliant professional work. Our proposal to him was to take on our corporative image, to develop the strategy for the CerroBlanco trade mark. He was very receptive and full of praise for the province, the natural park and the project as we presented it to him. We will keep in contact until a collaboration agreement is reached. (más…)

We have contacted European associations of Nordic Walking, representing more than 5 million people who practice this sport. Almost all are senior citizens keeping a healthy life style and enjoy being out in nature. Being practically what our project is set to provide, we offered to sponsor an annual gathering to include nature walks and select dinning options for the health conscious. We believe more joint activities can be developed with time, which will promote both this sport and CerroBlanco. (más…)
