CerroBlanco retirement home will be an assisted living complex surrounded by woods and gardens. It is located in Fuenteheridos at the heart of the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park, Huelva, Andalusia, Spain.
The complex will include: a central residence, independent housing, a day centre, a kindergarten and a farm school. The best social and health care will be combined with an exclusive offer of sports and recreational activities to enhance the quality of life.
Boundaries between outdoors and indoors are indistinct in the unique space we refer to as The Spring. Water with important healing properties, coming from the ancient Puerto de los Angeles aquifer is the main feature here.

Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park has a rich cultural heritage and the highest concentration of legally declared and protected historical sites in Andalusia.
It is characterised by its extended forests of chestnut woods and the ferns growing in their shade, the high reaching poplars and wild roses over the many streams that cross this land and the meadows dotted by holm and cork oaks where herds of Iberian pigs roam freely.
Some of the attractions a visitor may find of interest in the area are: Gruta de las Maravillas (cave of wonders) in Aracena, the Roman town Turobriga, the mosque of Almonaster and the Peña de Alájar, the rocky cliff where Benito Arias Montano, the Spanish humanist, found refuge.
The climate is mainly Mediterranean, with the influence of the mountains and the high precipitation resulting in temperatures somewhat lower than those of the coast. This makes summers here very comfortable.
Healthy food both local and organic will be offered with the cured ham of acorn fed Iberian pigs as the main delicacy.
We aim at increasing the quality and expectancy of life by creating a space, beneficial for both body and soul, tailored to the needs of each of its costumers.

Horse riding
This activity is well known for making us feel happier, more relaxed and sociable. The intimate relationship between rider and horse is full of emotions and sensations, creating a bond that grows stronger day by day. A dance of caresses and looks that only they can understand.

Sustainability is one of our most important guidelines. Responsible use of existing natural resources, maintenance of traditional systems of water reserves and supply, biological treatment of residuals and making the most out of renewable energy sources like the sun, the wind, marble thermomass and biomass are all parts of our design.
Our architectural planning succeeded in creating spacious interiors that are both luminous and cosy. The grounds design is aimed at inviting the practice of sports and physical activity as means to favour social interaction, so vital for the health, education, development and general well-being of us all.
The buildings will be integrated in the forest and gardens, especially designed to provide natural produce for the consumption of residents, visitors and staff.

Our goal is for each resident to enjoy excellent quality life according to their personal situation, their preferences, interests and needs.
An active life style that includes healthy habits and a balanced diet is necessary for promoting personal autonomy as well as physical and mental development.
Here in CerroBlanco we are fully aware of this view and work daily to make it possible.
A major factor not only for an active life but also of healthy ageing is the fostering of social interaction and especially the relationship between different generations.
CerroBlanco retirement home will be a perfect setting for such encounters. Establishing and developing friendship and companionship among the residents or with younger people (visitors, staff etc.) through daily contact and participation in the wide range of activities on offer.
Team work of a multi-disciplinary staff (geriatricians, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, nurses, physiotherapists…) is a crucial requirement.
Our staff will be composed of qualified and experienced professionals. All called to offer guidance in the understanding and facing of the constant and unforeseeable social and technological changes of this world as well as alternatives to accepting them.
